Explore The Local Area
Despite being tucked away in the peacefulness of the countryside, we are only an approximately 20 minute drive from the historic city of Canterbury, a 12 minute drive from the coastal town of Folkestone, and 15 minutes from the port of Dover. There is a local shop in neighbouring village Densole (a 3 minute drive), a supermarket located in Hawkinge (a 7 minute drive) or a range of supermarkets if you venture slightly further into the town of Folkestone.
We are very fortunate to be surrounded by an abundance of footpaths and cycling routes, making for wonderful walking adventures or cycle rides.
Where To Eat
We are spoilt with a wide range of places to eat from local country pubs to all kinds of restaurants in the nearby town of Folkestone and city of Canterbury.
My top pub recommendation is The Kings Arms in Elham. Newly renovated to the highest standard boasting a beautiful interior and garden coupled with fantastic food, this pub is definitely worth a visit being only a 5 minute drive away.
The Gatekeeper in Etchinghill is another great choice. This pub is full of character and charm serving lovely food and under a 15 minute drive away.
Our local pub, The Jackdaw, is located in the heart of the village of Denton approximately 7 minutes drive away and similarly to The Gatekeeper is a popular and traditional country pub with a wide range of gluten free options on the menu.
Equally, The Old High Street in the coastal town of nearby Folkestone boasts a handful of characterful and popular restaurants and bars. For an even bigger choice, the city of Canterbury has a huge range of well-known restaurants, quirky bars, and lively pubs.
